Nothing better than cuddling up with some hot chocolate and sugar cookies in the winter time. I have possibly the easiest, can’t go wrong recipe for sugar cookies that you can enjoy tonight.
What You’ll Need:
- about 1 1/3 cups of all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract( try not to use imitation)
- 3/4 cup of sugar (white)
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 egg (or one SMALL egg)
You want to preheat the oven to about 375 degrees first.
In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
In another larger bowl, cream the sugar and butter, until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Slowly, blend in the dry ingredients from the previous bowl. You have two options now. Roll the cookies by hand into small balls/rounds or use a small ice cream scoop to make them. I prefer rounding by hand myself. Place the cookie balls onto the cookie sheet, about half inch to an inch separate. Cookie sheet should be ungreased.
Bake for about 7-10 minutes or until the cookies look golden on top. You can let them cool on a wire rack or sprinkle colored sugar on top while they are still warm.
