My Top 5 movies for 2013

Another year has come and gone. As always, we like to look back and reflect on the good and bad of the previous year. I am going to take this chance to talk about my Top 5 movies of 2013.

20140102-133836.jpg Thor:The Dark World beat out some pretty tough competition to make it onto my top 5. I really enjoyed the route Marvel took with this sequel. They continued what was already going on, and further built out Asgard and what magic is in the Marvel cinematic universe. Having more Loki doesn’t hurt either. There was some really good acting, and the pacing of the movie was very good. The actions scenes got me excited, and really hit hard. Another great addition to the Marvel cinematic universe.

20140102-134717.jpg Star Trek Into the Darkness was another sequel that was just spot on. J.J. Abrams really hit a home run with this movie. He took everything that worked in Star Trek and made it better. They paid great homage to the original movies, yet made the stories their own. I love the casting, and the action once again blew my mind. I can’t wait to see were they go next.

20140102-135358.jpg Pacific Rim had big hulking robots fighting big hulking monsters. Need I say more? This is everything Godzilla better be in 2014. This is a movie that I couldn’t care less about the story or the characters. All that mattered to me were the fight scenes. And this movies did not disappoint. It’s a movie that had to be scene on the big screen. It was awesome.

20140102-135922.jpg World War Z was the runner up for me this year. I loved this movie. Was on the edge of my seat throughout the movie. I mean, the tension, the excitement, the fear was all there throughout. I never knew what was coming next, and I loved every second of it. I mean, come on, it had zombies in it. Can’t go wrong there.

20140102-140259.jpg My top movie of 2013 was Man of Steel. I must admit, I had my guard up when I went to go see this movie. I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t sure how I felt about some of the things I had heard they were going to try to do in this movie. Well, they nailed it. I wasn’t disappointed. This movie was awesome. The story was awesome. The acting was awesome. The action was tremendous. They got a little heavy handed with a couple things, but overall this was just my favorite movie of the year.

Well, that’s my Top 5 movies of 2013. What were your favorite movies? Let me know what you think. Laters
