Have you ever stumbled upon a product that just worked in every aspect? It worked because it was affordable, cleaned beautifully, was an all-natural detergent that was gentle on your clothes and skin and had cute, reusable packaging. I am stoked and had to share this amazing find. I found all of those great qualities when I discovered Nellie’s All-Natural Laundry Nuggets while shopping at T.J. Maxx in 2013.
Nellie’s may or may not be a household name where you’re from but it is easily accessible. If you’re out and about running errands, it can be found at World Market and select Crate and Barrel stores, and as well as several online retailers including Amazon.com, iHerb.com and of course you can buy directly at NelliesAllNatural. I love the find a bargain with free shipping, so I searched online for days until I found the best deal at iHerb.com. iHerb.com has great shopping incentives and affordable deals for returning customers but that’s another review!
Okay, so you’re probably asking yourself, “what is a laundry nugget?”. Simply put, it’s a pre-measured amount of powder laundry detergent, compressed in the shape of a nugget. They easily dissolve in hot or cold water work well in front and top loading machines. The laundry nuggets contains soda ash, sodium silicate and coconut oil derived detergents, it’s hypoallergenic, biodegradable and non-toxic so it’s safe for sensitive skin and babies! Only one nugget is necessary per load, even extra-large ones. I would recommend using two if you are washing extra soiled laundry. A few times, I used Arm & Hammer with a load of whites or linens to make sure they turned out bright. Nellie’s also makes an All-Natural Oxygen Brightener but I have not used that yet. In March 2013, I bought a 36 pack and two 50 pack canisters of laundry nuggets for $35.00. Ten months later, we’re down to 25 so I just bought more this week. With that being said, we are a household of two and do laundry about 3-4 times per month.
All in all, Nellie’s All-Natural Laundry Nuggets are a great buy and I highly recommend them if you’re looking to change your household detergent or just try something new.
