Police in Orangeburg South Carolina have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a student at South Carolina State University.
20-year-old Brandon Robinson was an outside linebacker and defensive end who played in just four games at the historically black university. The redshirt junior was an engineering technology student and an Orangeburg native. He was shot outside an on-campus dormitory.
Police arrested 19-year-old Justin Bernard Singleton for the murder of Robinson. Police say the two got into a heated argument when Singleton pulled a gun and shot Robinson in the neck. Robinson was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
The death of Robinson comes off after a string of school shootings in the last two weeks. Tuesday a student at Purdue University was shot and stabbed to death in a classroom.
