This past Tuesday, Deathlok made his debut on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I was stoked to see one of the most underrated characters in the Marvel universe debut. Deathlok is a cyborg, that is often used for even, but helps the good guys in the end. Using the Mike Peterson character for this part was genius. Peterson is a character that you can root for, and his transformation into Deathlok cements in as a character to root for. I am both intrigued and excited about him being on the show and how they decide to use him.
I hope the use of more “C” and “D” list Marvel characters will appease the critics of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. It seems people were expecting an Avengers tv show, and are disappointed by the show being about S.H.I.E.L.D.. My thing is, the show is called Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a reason. I am glad they started with brand new characters that they can flesh out in their own way. The chemistry of the characters get better and better each episode. They have all hit their stride, and I for one can’t wait to see how this season ends and how it plays into the Captain America: Winter Soldier movie that opens on April 4th. They have hinted to a lot of the same storylines that are hinted at in the Captian America: Winter Soldier trailers. I have really enjoyed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the introduction of Deathlok only has me more excited about where this show is going.
