I know, they’re everywhere but I couldn’t help but do my own version of a couple of Beyoncé’s makeup looks from her self titled visual album. Sir John, her MUA, slayed every single look effortlessly. Each is very simple, yet elegant and easy enough to re-create at home with products you already have.
The first look I re-created is from the “Haunted” video is a simple grey smokey eye with a vampy deep red lips. A modern, clean update to 1920s and 1930s beauty paired with Beyoncé’s short-cropped finger waved ‘do.
How I re-created this look:
I started with priming my eye with Urban Decay Primer Potion followed by NYX Full Coverage Concealer as my base. Next I applied Sienna from Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Lavish palette my crease with a fluffy brush. On the first 2/3 of my lid I applied Knight Divine with a flat eyeshadow brush, then I applied a glitter silver color from Coastal Scents’ 252 color palette on top. On the outer 1/3 I applied Black Diamond, also from the Lavish palette, slightly blending it into my crease. I also smudged this color on my lower lash line. I added a very thin line of WetnWild Gel Liner in Black with their Mega Liquid Liner on top, then slightly smudged out.Beyonce’s look is kind of “messy” and “worn” so don’t worry about it looking neat or polished. I skipped the lashed on this look and applied a coat of Mac’s Prep and Prime Lash with two coats of Lancôme’s High Definition Mascara in Black on top. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Covet Waterproof liner on my lower lash line and applied mascara to my lower lashes as well.
Beyonce’s face is very clean, not too much contour so i used a very light layer of Mac’s Studio Fix Fluid all over my face and Select Cover up Concealer under my eyes in two shades lighter to brighten up the eye area. This is important since we are using such dark colors on the eyes you don’t want to have “racoon eyes” . I set with Mac’s MSFN in dark. I slightly contoured my cheeks with Covergirl Queen Collection bronzer in Ebony Bronze and applied Sweet as Cocoa blush from MAC on my cheeks.
Lastly, to complete the look I applied MAC’ s Talk that Talk lipstick to my lips, because this is a matte lipstick and Beyonce’s look is a bit glossy I applied L’oreal HIP lipgloss in Indestructible on top for a glossier effect.
This look is very bold, however easy to re-create. Perfect for dinner date, a night of clubbing or maybe even Beyoncé concert.
