If you have been living under a rock (I was going to say dome, but…nevermind) then I’m going to need you to come out IMMEDIATELY and get hip to CBS’ series “Under The Dome“. “Under The Dome” is a book by my FAVORITE author, Stephen King and as with most of his books, it’s been adapted to a television show (Haven, anybody?). Synopsis of Under The Dome:
It tells the story of the residents of the small town of Chester’s Mill in Maine, where a massive, transparent, indestructible dome suddenly cuts them off from the rest of the world. With no Internet access, no mobile signals and limited radio communication, the people trapped inside must find their own ways to survive with diminishing resources and rising tensions. While military forces, the government and the media positioned outside of this surrounding barrier attempt to break it down, a small group of people inside attempt to figure out what the dome is, where it came from, and when (and if) it will go away. -Thanks Wikipedia
Not to long ago, Stephen King tweeted:
And now for Under The Dome Season 2 news:
The cast additions come as Under the Dome is poised to kill off two “favorites” when it returns with its King-penned season-two premiere June 30.
Vaughan told THR last year that the series will continue to focus on the human drama rather than the otherworldly beings introduced at season’s end.
“Even though we’ve introduced these people behind the dome, we don’t want it to become a show about us versus aliens. The dome is only there to pit us against each other and challenge our characters,” he said. “We hope that will keep it a grounded human drama. We’ve always described the dome as a baby from another world and it’s still learning to talk with us.”
In the final seconds of the finale, Barbie (Mike Vogel), framed for multiple murders committed by Big Jim, is led to the gallows for a public hanging, with vengeful Junior’s (Alexander Koch) hands on the lever. This season will pick up the moment the finale left off, but don’t plan on everyone making it out alive. The show’s producers have been very vocal about the deaths of two major characters in the season premiere, which was written by King himself. In January, executive producer Brian K. Vaughn said, “there will be some major deaths early on this season of important characters. There may be more than one who will be leaving us early on.” Although nothing is confirmed, one potential victim of King’s season premiere could be Sheriff Linda, played by Natalie Martinez, who has joined fellow Wilmington production “Secrets & Lies,” an ABC pilot. That show went into production Friday.
Under The Dome Season 2 returns on June 30 at 10pm on CBS, of course I will post news as SOON as I find it!
