GameSpot Is Hiring An Associate Editor

Whenever I come across a hiring post, I make sure to put it here on VixenVarsity, because while we are in the business of entertaining, we also like to reach out to the community. With that said, Gamespot is hiring!

Based in GameSpot’s San Francisco office, the Editor will work as part of GameSpot’s global editorial team on both written and video content. This is an entry-level position, but we need someone capable of producing compelling content around Game X at any point during its life cycle. We’re looking for someone who can not only write and present informative and entertaining reviews of games, but who can also find interesting angles to cover games from both pre- and post-release.

The rumors are true: As a GameSpot Editor you will in fact get paid to play games. Sometimes. You’ll also get paid to attend and report on industry events, to appear on camera in a wide range of video programming, to take part in our peer-editing process, and to have your finger on the pulse of all things gaming.

We’re looking for a talented writer and on-camera personality with a strong work ethic, a team-first mentality, and a desire to share their opinions with the GameSpot audience in an entertaining way. A broad knowledge of video games is a must; if you typically devote all of your gaming time to a single series or genre, this might not be the gig for you.

Required Qualifications: Demonstrable experience of video game-related writing and on-camera work. Passion for video games. Good working knowledge of multiple gameplay genres and game series.
