Yesterday morning during NYCC, Marvel Unlimited Plus members were treated to amazing footage and trailer of the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron. Yes, you read that correctly.
The scene opens with Avengers members Iron-Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor, Bruce Banner, Iron-Patriot and Maria Hill relaxing in what I think is the Stark Tower. Thor places Mjölnir on the table and Stark asks Thor “If I lift this, do I get to rule Asgard?” Tony attempts to lift Mjölnir and is unsuccessful, he says that he’ll be right back and returns with Iron-Man’s hand attached. Even with the aid of his suit he can’t pick it up. Tony won’t give up, War Machine AND Iron-Man suit arms are trying to lift up Mjölnir. Tony asks if Rhodie is even trying, Rhodes says he’s trying to represent, of course they fail. Bruce Banner gets
ANGRY “fake angry” and well, still remains as puny Bruce. As Steve Rogers (Captain America) goes to lift Mjölnir, there was a look of concern on Thor’s face. Mjölnir budges a little and Thor was instantly relieved.
Tony says that “whosoever carries Thor’s fingerprints, I think is the literal translation.” Thor says, “that there is a very, very interesting theory, but I have a simpler one; you’re all not worthy.” Instantly an ear-piercing noise is heard, a beaten up Ultron appears. “How could you be worthy, you’re all killers. You want to protect the world, but you don’t want it to change. There’s only one path to peace, your extinction.” Then Ultron’s bots fly through the wall behind Ultron. Fade to Black.
In the Avengers Age of Ultron trailer that was shown after, a creepy version of Disney’s Phinocchio ‘Got No Strings’ that has a Ultron voice over. “The whole world screaming for mercy. Everyone….tangled in….strings. Strings.” While the track plays destruction is happening in different parts of the world. Stark says, “It’s the end, the end of the path I started us on.” Black Widow replies with “Nothing lasts forever.” You see Hulkbuster vs the Hulk, The Hulk and Black Widow touching hands, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.
Ultron says, “There are no strings on me.”
A quick fade to black and then Stark stumbles across a pile of dead bodies along with a broken Captain America shield.
