Toy Fair 2015 Highlights

MizCaramelVixen and I covered Toy Fair 2015 yesterday, take a look at some of the very cool things that we saw at Toy Fair.

The Walking Dead:

Saw a lot of very cool toys for The Walking Dead, both the TV series and the comic book. McFarlane Toys had some of the best ones. The attention to detail was really dope. I love the play sets, and they were all reasonably priced. I see I will have to make room in my playroom for some of the play sets.

Sirius XM’s TheMoms Host Annie Event Sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Line

Sirius XM’s TheMoms hosted a screening for the movie Annie starring Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis at the Sony screening room on Tuesday afternoon. The event was sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Line and one lucky family that attended will win a cruise! There were tons of families lined up, little boys and girls all dressed in red and ready to see Annie. norwegian-cruise-cupcakes In the waiting area, the children helped themselves to some yummy cupcakes and slices of pizza while the moms and dads talked amongst themselves, each hoping that they’ll be the lucky family who wins the cruise prize.

Before the actual screening of Annie, we had a few commercials from Norwegian Cruise Lines which had me ready to fight to the “death” for a chance to win the family cruise prize. A vacation was needed right there and then, pretty sure there were more families who thought the same thing. THIS. IS. SPARTA! A duel was definitely going to break out right there in the Sony screening room, if it was announced that you had to fight to win. TheMoms, Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, announced that the winner would be notified before Christmas. They also had another surprise, some of the cast members would be in attendance!

There were about 15 children who sat on the floor to watch Annie and only a couple of children moved from the spot where they sat. They were so mesmerized by the movie, one little girl would dance her little heart out during certain musical scenes.quvenzhane-wallis-opportunity My nieces attended the AnnieMoms event and my eldest niece, 14, broke out in tears during several scenes that featured Annie, namely the “Opportunity” number. The movie won her over, my 12-year-old-younger niece was not here for Annie. She told me “nothing beats the original”, it was an “okay” movie, that was “missing mysterious elements” and was curious why they were “singing off-key.”

After the screening of Annie, in walked four members of the cast…

Zoe Margaret Colletti (Tessie), Nicolette Pierini (Mia), Eden Duncan-Smith (Isabella), and Amanda Troya (Pepper). These lovely ladies played four foster girls in Miss Hannigan’s (Cameron Diaz) care. They stopped by to answer a few questions from the audience and later took pictures with the children in attendance. This was the first feature film for 3 of the young ladies, all have done previous commercials before Annie. Here’s a few videos from the interview.

Nicolette Pierini who plays Mia spoke on Cameron Diaz being an awesome set mother.

The young ladies speak about experiences on set.

Just a few pictures of the four foster girl actors from the Annie remake movie and attendees.

For more pictures of the event visit TheMoms on FaceBook.

Academy Award® nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

Annie is in theaters December 19th.
