All good thing must come to an end, after five years writing “Batman” Scott Snyder is leaving the book. Batman fans don’t have to worry though because he will be taking over “Detective Comics” this summer.
Bleeding cool broke news yesterday that Snyder will take over “Detective Comics” when Batman goes Bi-monthly while Detective will stick to its monthly schedule. The report states that Snyder will have more freedom with Detective Comics. He will be able to do more original stories and not focus as much on the event-driven epics we’ve become used to. Snyder actually wrote on Detective Comics before the New 52 push of books started. “Detective Comics” is actually the book that Batman originally debuted in.
I have enjoyed Snyder’s run on “Batman” immensely he has revitalized the character. If he can do the same thing with “Detective Comics” we are in for the treat. I look forward to seeing the characters that he introduces, and seeing how a more condensed story style works.
No Word yet on who will be replacing Snyder or which issue will be his last. I look forward to seeing him bring Detective Comics to prominence once again.
